During the Christmas season, we always allow our house helpers to take a break so that they can be with their family to celebrate the  occasion. They usually come back just before classes resume. My siblings' classes were scheduled to resume last Monday and so, we were expecting Manang to be back during the weekend. (The other house helper is not going to work for us anymore.) However, Monday came and there was no sign of Manang anywhere. We have been trying to reach her through her cellphone but it is always switched off. We recently found out through my uncle who introduced her to us that she eloped. In case you were wondering how old Manang is, she is 53 years old and she has grandkids.

My dad could not help but laugh upon hearing the news. I on the other hand did not find it funny nor did my mom. The thing is, Manang owes us money. But never mind that. What makes me feel pissed off is that she told us she was coming back and we obviously waited for nothing. She could have told us that she wanted to live with her boyfriend and could not work for us anymore before she left so that we could have already done something about the situation earlier.

I have no idea what will happen next. I do not know if we are getting a replacement soon. All I am sure of right now is that my siblings and I will have to do some chores.
