Entries for September, 2011

One of the perks of my job is the chance to travel. Of course it is still primarily about work, but once the work is done, one can squeeze in the other fun stuff.

I was in Bangkok from September 17 to 20,  to cover the Siam Cement Group's (SCG) Sustainable Development Symposium. SCG has presence in countries such as the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, to name a few. It is engaged in different businesses such as the manufacture of paper, cement and other building materials.

The last time I was in Bangkok was when I was still 18 so it was fun to be there again after a long time. The trip was quite tiring but still fun. I say tiring because we had to wake up early in the morning for the activities and sleep late at night for we had to write stories for the newspaper. Still, it was fun because we're eating most of the time. I love the food there.  And of course, the trip would not be complete without shopping. We stayed at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel which is connected to MBK so shopping was really unavoidable.

Found some amazing stuff like this 2PM snack. Not really a  2PM fan. (There were no Super Junior snacks unfortunately.) But after seeing this is in the supermarket, I just had to buy it.

Our arrival at the Suvarnabhumi airport where we were given flower bracelets. The flowers are real by the way. (Quite similar to the sampaguita given to celebrities here in the Philippines.)

Ordering drinks at the Toh-plue Restaurant in  Jatujak Market

Amazing "How to get to me" cards at MBK (your ultimate guide to the store you're looking for)
