Happy 2012!
And the first day of the year is full of surprises as the Sex God (SG) aka Siwon who happens to be one of my favorite Super Junior members, tweeted this earlier in the afternoon:
Yesterday reminded me so much of Nick and Norah's search for rock band Where's Fluffy. Like Nick and Norah who were looking for where the rock band was performing, I wanted to find Siwon, Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk, three of the Super Junior members who were in Manila to film a full commercial.
Nick and Norah had to rely on clues written on the door of the cubicle in the lavatory. My friend Monette and I as well as other Super Junior fans, meanwhile had to rely on Siwon's tweets since everyone had no clue on their whereabouts.
Monette and I took part in the search for the boys in the evening since we had work earlier. (Yes, we're old and have to go to work.) We met up with another friend of hers, and other girls at 7 pm. Earlier in the day though, I was monitoring Siwon's tweets.
The first clue he gave yesterday was a photo of the view from his hotel window. Based on what I was getting from tweets of other fans, the boys were staying in Edsa Shang. I was not convinced though because Siwon's picture suggested otherwise.
good morning beautiful world. first day in philipines. Its so beautiful sunrise. It will be lovely day. God bless!
At around 10 am, Siwon gave the second clue.
Just as we were trying to decide what to do next, Siwon gives another clue.
it was really good time with you philipines. Im so proud of you all and very appriciate for your love and passion.
And then, he replies to a tweet of a fan.
After reading that, we were convinced the boys were bound for Korea and so we decided to go to the airport. It was already 10:30 pm and I couldn't believe I was actually still willing to look for them. Monette and I were both asking each other from time to time why we were doing what we're doing. The airport is really far from where we live, but we were still going there just to see the boys.
At the airport, one of our companions gets a text message saying the boys were spotted inside the terminal. We were late and so unlike Nick and Norah who found Where's Fluffy, we didn't get to see the boys at all.
On the way home, Monette told me that she was never going to do this again. I totally understand. We exerted effort but didn't achieve the goal. She said she would prefer going to organized events like concerts or fan meetings only next time and that following them to every location they go to would no longer be part of the agenda. I agree with that. Going to concerts of course are more convenient. But yesterday, I just felt like I had to go see them, to show them that so many people want them to perform here again because the possibility of that happening seemed nil. The Philippines is not part of the Super Show 4 tour based on the schedule released so far and the producer of the previous Super Shows held here has not indicated any plan of bringing them here for another show.
What a day. One day, I will probably laugh at what I did yesterday, will think it was crazy or even forget about it. Any of that can happen tomorrow or sometime in the future. For now though, like all other Filipino fans, what I can do is cross my fingers and hope the management and producer would reconsider the Philippines as part of the tour.
Just heard the sad news that there will be no Super Show 4 in Manila this year. Happee Sy of Pulp Productions said so, which means, I will have to fly somewhere to see Super Junior.
Ok. Must hide my face under a brown bag.
My friends who know about my plan to watch them again don't understand why this should be a pressing concern when I've already seen them twice. My usual response is, well, Super Show 4 will be different from the previous shows because they will be singing new songs. Apart from that, the stage will be different. It is not just the members who will be moving from one place to another, but the stage will likewise be doing the same. And instead of just fireworks, there will be mini fountains.
More than that, Leeteuk, the leader of the group, is slated to enter the army this year for the mandatory service, which means, this will be my last chance to see him. He is not my favorite member, but still, I would like to see him perform with the rest of the group before he leaves.
The options which are available for me so far are: Taiwan and Singapore. Tickets for the three-night show in Taiwan were sold out in 17 minutes (I know right, can you believe it?), but due to popular demand, another show was added, which is set on February 2. The drawback though is, I would need a visa to go there.
The Singapore show is on February 18. Tickets are not on sale yet and I am worried that it might sell like hotcakes too since you don't need a visa to go there. I am very certain that fans in countries that are not part of the tour are considering watching the show there too.
Singapore seems to be the easier option at this point. I still need to know how to get the concert tickets though. Any ideas? Would really appreciate it.
