If I could have any super power, I'd pick the power to control time. I'd pick that so that I could keep up, move at my own pace and still meet the deadline. Time management has always been my problem. It takes me a long time to do things and so I am often late. The same thing happens to my stories and while I have gotten away with it for quite some time (last week was my second anniversary), I can't say it would still work in the coming days.

Today, my editor called me to tell me that if I don't submit my stories on time, I would be suspended. A suspension means you lose your chance of getting a merit increase and being promoted for that year. She said that if my stories would be late, I should coordinate with the editor concerned. And so today, I was in a hurry to meet the deadline.

Ok. So I finished early today. After submitting my stories, I thought that maybe it's a good thing that they're being strict with the deadlines because that means I'll be able to go home early. Boy, I was wrong. My editor called me afterwards to call source for another story.

A part of me says that maybe the threat of suspension may be a good thing since it would coerce me to write faster. It worked today. Let's see in the coming days.
