I seriously need to get a job. I am literally stagnating. I need to be employed soon. And by soon, what I mean is before Ticketnet starts selling tickets to The Click Five's concert. The band will be touring the world and Manila is its first stop.
I was reading Kyle's blog a couple of days ago and in his last entry, he mentioned that the band was coming back to Asia this summer. He did not give a specific date so I thought it would be wise to keep checking the band's My Space. (Haha! I know. I am such a fan. A devoted fan. You can't blame me. I've got too much time in my hands.) Moving along, I checked their My Space today and saw that May 30 is the date to look forward to. The show will be held in Araneta and ticket prices range from 200-10,500. 10,500!?.
Seriously, that wasn't the amount I was expecting considering that the band has a young fan base. Capitalism has indeed taken over the world.
I really want to see the band perform again. I cannot miss the show. I cannot. I am done for spending every single day at home as well. I am tired of staring at ceilings and blending with walls. I need money and I need to start being productive. And so, I must get a job soon.
I just checked Ticketnet.com and tickets for The Click Five's show are now on sale. It turns out I got the prices I posted on the previous entry wrong. (Hey! I just copied what I saw on the band's My Space.) Anyway, here are the ticket prices:
Patron VIP - 3675
Patron - 2940
Lower Box - 1890
Upper Box A - 1260
Upper Box B - 840
General Admission - 420
I must get tickets soon.
I met up with Mika last Thursday. I have not seen her for more than a year so we had a lot of things to talk about. Our conversation dealt with planning our careers for the most part.
I found out that just like me, she is still unemployed. I really did not expect that considering that she is a registered nurse. There is a great demand of nurses abroad and since many Filipino nurses opt to work in these other countries, local hospitals are said to be in need of more nurses. As it turns out, most local hospitals have a good number of nurses. I learned from Mika that in one hospital she sent her applicatin to in August, she was told to return in January because that is only when they can start accepting Nursing graduates of 2007 as all the positions are filled. She even adds that in her circle of college friends, many are still unemployed.
I used to think that the exodus of the Filipino nurses was detrimental to the country because it would eventually lead to the shortage of nurses. I guess this notion is anachronistic because reality says the country is not lacking nurses but jobs to be filled.
