I noticed that everytime I would attend a gathering be it with relatives or old friends, I am always asked this question:"So, may boyfriend ka na ba?" Saturday's reunion with my relatives from my dad's side was no different.

Of course my answer was:"Wala." And my cousins and aunts wouldn't believe me. They insisted that if I had no significant other at the moment, they were certain there are applicants. To this, I responded with: "Wala rin." Still, they said I just did not want to share the details. But really, there's nothing to share. If there was, why would I not say anything?

Why is this a big deal anyway? It is because as I already mentioned, it is always brought up. Also, everytime I am asked the question, I always give the same response. And sometimes, I wonder when will my response change. All my cousins (not counting the young ones and by young ones I mean, those in grade school) are in a relationship right now. I am not in a hurry but you know, I can't help but think that I am being left out. I guess I'm just worried that perhaps, five years from now, I'd still give the same answer when asked the same question. But to reiterate, as what I've been saying time and again, I don't want to be with someone just for the sake of being with someone. It wouldn't be bad either if I had someone too.
