I am moving to another beat again. I seem to be almost always part of the reshuffle of assignments in the office. Beginning Monday, I will be covering the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as well as their attached agencies.

Why am I moving again after going back to my first beat just last March? Well, one of our reporters left the company. This is almost always the reason behind the changes in our beat assignments.

I am used to moving from one beat to another. If I were to describe how every single day of my life at work is, it would be suffice to say that it is one full of uncertainty. You never know how your day will turn out to be. Will I get my source to talk about this issue? Where do I have to be at this time? What issue can I follow-up today? These are questions I have to find answers to everyday. And it does not end there. I have to write the story and submit it. After it is submitted, the editors would sometimes still have questions so I should make sure my cellphone's battery is fully charged just in case I get calls from the office. There was one time when I even got call at 11 p.m.  Despite all the uncertainties, I like what I am doing now. I am not sure if I said this before but I like it because I know that what I write would have an impact or would influence someone in some way and I feel through that, I am being relevant. I like it but, there's a but. Still working on that fresh start.
